Primary Zone

At the primary level, children progress into exploring, experimenting and absorbing everything they see and hear. It is here that the foundation for the love of learning is laid and strengthened. They learn to question, analyze, classify and communicate their perceptions. The entire course establishes and strengthens vital skills like motor and reading skills, Language and communication skills, writing and number concepts.

The child at the primary level is given maximum support and attention through a supportive atmosphere where the child is known, loved and appreciated. The teaching methods adopted to ensure that every child absorbs maximum new knowledge in a natural and effortless way. Thus, an ambience of all-round joyous learning is created by using the stimulating educational content.

We at The Wisdom Tree believe in learning by doing. When more than one method of learning is accessed as in hands-on learning, the information has a better chance of being stored in the memory. The benefit of hands-on-learning in our school revolves around Experiential Learning. This method tends to stimulate students into participating and eventually absorbing information through Immersive learning. Kinesthetic Learning method involves the child in a total learning experience which enhances the child's ability to think, connect and apply. Kinesthetic activities involve working with materials and activities that assist in the development of sensory organs. Children learn through child receptive three-dimensional teaching aids, assemblies, circle time, audio-visuals aids, field trips and excursions. Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students learn about a subject through the experience of solving an open-ended problem found in trigger material. 

 

Assessment Policy

 

Classes I, II & III:

The academic year is divided into two terms and each term has two assessment reports. There shall be no formal examinations for classes I, II & III. The students will be assessed on the basis of their day to day performance and regular classroom observations. The assessments would comprise of  Periodic Tests/Class Tests, worksheets, assignments, recitation, reading, group discussions, dictation, project works, quizzes, extempore, multiple choice questions (MCQs), interactions, short answer questions (SAQs), field projects etc.
